The Perfect Sunday
Fresh brewed coffee? Check. Toasted bagel with organic veggies & cream cheese? Check. Kinfolk Magazine? Check. The company of my best friends? Check. The perfect Sunday, indeed. Live slow.
Along the Shore
I pick up a flat stone, smooth from years of gentle waves crashing over it. It feels cool in my sweaty palm. I rear back my arm with the tension of a slingshot and hurl the rock into the bay. Surprise rushes through my body as the rock skips effortlessly over the calm waters. “WOW!” I scream as I experience my first joy of rock skipping. My celebration is short lived as the lone fisherman at the shore screams, “Hey, stop tossing rocks, you’ll scare the fish!”
I feel like I’m 12 years old again, giddy and in trouble.
Seamless Living
With summer renovations on my mind, I'm looking to this inspiring indoor/outdoor setting in South Africa. The large retractable glass window is a functional option for the anyone looking to convert their garage into livable, usable space.

Chúc Mừng Năm Mới
What Tet (the vietnamese new year) means to me: family. food. renewal. Wishing everyone a healthy, enlightening, and joyous 2015!
Flowerland
Imagine a beautiful garden setting, delicious coffee and an amazing playlist — sounds good right? That's what Flowerland in Albany has achieved. We stopped by the nursery over the weekend looking for a few plants and what was meant to be a quick 15-minute errand turned into about an hour-long experience as we sipped and chatted our way through the garden. One glance and you'll fall in love with the adorable coffee truck (actually a 1969 Princess Streamline trailer), strong brew and did I mention they also serve yummy biscuit sandwiches? We also picked up a really interesting wall plant called a staghorn fern for a cool DIY project but more on that later . . .

Joan's Favorites
As a Kickstarter supporter of The Joan Didion Documentary, We Tell Ourselves Stories In Order to Live, by Griffin Dunne and Susanne Rostock, I received a handwritten list of Joan's favorite books today! Joan is one of my favorite authors so I am looking forward to reading her most beloved picks in the new year. Are you a Joan fan, too? Stay updated on the making of the documentary here.
Fresh Start
Two of my favorite things: moss and white shoes. The latter happens to be a pair of fresh Converse Chuck Taylor sneakers made out of water-resistant white rubber. So good . . . and they're only $65!
